Have you noticed how more and more people are sharing photos of food on their Facebook page and other social sites? It could be a meal they’ve cooked or one they’ve ordered in a restaurant, either way there are a few factors that may have motivated a person to share a photo of their food online: 

• Look how lucky I am, this dish is delicious and I ate all of it!

• Can you believe I ate this? Here’s the proof of how crazy I am…

• Look how awesome I am at cooking and I’m not even a chef!

• This is disgusting, are you freaked out yet? 

Or it could just be to make them-selves look cool, as this short video suggests.

If you own a restaurant it goes without saying you want your customers to be motivated to share your dish by the ‘look how lucky I am’ experience. You could always encourage them to do this by running an online ‘best food photo’ competition.
